The Assumption Group launches its Social Responsibility Program

6/16/2015 12:00:00 AM

The community involvement of the Assumption Group and its employees is stronger than ever. The President and CEO, André Vincent, shared this morning the main elements of the Social Responsibility Program.

Since its beginnings, the Assumption Group has fostered a culture of generosity. “This year, we’ve developed a Social Responsibility Program to make our commitment to the community official. Our goal is to be proactive in our efforts and our support and to maximize the impact of our contribution,” said André Vincent.

The Assumption Group undertakes to return 6% of its net profit to the community through charitable giving and philanthropy. “Education and health and well-being remain a focus. However, we have expanded into other areas of involvement such as culture, the environment and the economy. The Group is also extremely dedicated to its clients and employees, without whom it would not exist.”

Investing in volunteering The Assumption Group wants to invest not only through donations and sponsorships but also through volunteer work. « It is critical for the well-being of our communities, explained André Vincent. Our employees are known for their generosity toward many causes. We want to support and encourage them in their community involvement. »

Therefore, employees have the opportunity to volunteer, in teams, for half a day, for their favorite cause. This contribution in staff time could reach 800 hours this year.

#KindActChallenge: Every single act counts! The President and CEO took this opportunity to launch the #KindActChallenge. “We invite everyone to contribute, in their own way, to the well-being of the community. Through social media, encourage others to join you by sharing photos and videos of your act of kindness and challenging them to do the same by using the hashtag #KindActChallenge.”

Through this initiative, the Assumption Group hopes to generate multiple acts of kindness throughout the community. « Even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big difference », concluded André Vincent.
